Johnny and Blue Boy aka Bosco

Meet Two Bits:

In 1963, Johnny and his horse, "Two Bits" had been a team for four years. Johnny lived with his family in the Hollywood Hills, Two Bits lived nearby at the Fred Bale stables in Burbank. The horse, a quarter horse, a pinto with a dark brown head, often accompanied Johnny on personal appearance tours.

Here's a little trivia for you. "Blue Boy", the horse Johnny rode on The Rifleman, was really named "Bosco".

Two Bits was given to Johnny as a gift from a rancher.

What a team!

When Johnny started dating, Chuck Connors would tease him and kiddingly ask, "Notice you're not hanging around your horse so much lately?"
