Like Christopher Reeve is Superman, Lynda Carter is Wonder Woman, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier, Guy Williams IS the real Zorro! Congratulations Mary for the excellent site! The series is very famous here in Brazil!

I really like your website! I'm a twelve year old who found out about this site while surfing the web. I got interested in Zorro when my sister found the 1937 version with John Carroll at Bi-Mart. I got on the internet and found all kinds of cool info. I read about Guy Williams and found an old VHS of several episodes from the second season. It's my favorite! I'm saving my money for all the episodes on DVD. Thanks for all the great info.

Dear Mary, Congratulations on the website. I loved it! I'm from Brazil and I'm a huge fan of Guy Williams' work. He always was and will be my favorite hero. I watched Zorro with Antonio Banderas on TV and it made me remember when I watched Guy with his mask. Me and my father watched every single episode of the Zorro series when I was younger and I miss those days. Kisses and keep up with the good work with the site. It brings us good memories.

I really like your site! I am a twelve year old, so obviously I never saw Zorro on TV, but I have been able to get my hands on an old VHS of Zorro. I think Guy Williams was a great actor, and I also think he'd be really proud of this site! Thanks.

Dear Mary, I would like to congratulate you because of your site, but mostly have to thank you. I am Argentinian and I am 42. As you can imagine, I grew up watching Zorro since I can remember. It is, by far, my favourite fiction hero. I had several costumes, masks and all that stuff when I was a boy, in the '70s. And, of course, I remember pretty well that first Guy Williams visit to my country, and the followings. Four or five years ago, I went to see a theatre play with my children, about Zorro. The main role was played by Fernando Lupiz, that olympic fencer who became "the son of Zorro". I still watch some episodes whenever I have the opportunity. Thanks a lot, again.
Best regards,

Alberto Sutter

Mary, Carl suggested I visit your Guy Williams website. He was always one of my favorite actors of the era. He was to Zorro what George is to Superman. Although I also used to watch him in "Lost in Space", my favorite role for him was as Zorro. Thanks for the marvelous website on him!

Dear Mary, Your website gave me the thrill of walking down memory lane with Zorro. You have given great honor to Guy Williams, who still is beyond compare up to this day. I'm so grateful to have found this website today. Please continue your wonderful work!

Thank you Mary for this website. It is awesome. That first moment, so many, many years ago, that I saw Guy Williams as Zorro changed my life forever! That smile, his voice, the sincere look in his eyes, all captured my heart. Without my knowing it, Guy Williams became my "standard" of what is good in people. Not only in looks but in actions and deeds. I found my "Zorro" at the age of l8 in l968. I knew he was my true love the first time he looked at me with the most beautiful eyes, and that Zorro smile. That was 38 years ago and we are still very much in love. And I thank the character of Zorro as played by Guy Williams for giving me that "standard" of honesty, devotion, charity, kindness, laughter and love. I searched for it and I found it. Again, thanks for your hard work. The pictures are wonderful. My heart totally soared looking at them. I guess once a young girl falls in love with Zorro, there will never be another. Please keep up the hard work on this site.

Thanks a lot for your beautiful site. It's a bit unreal nowadays to find an actor that in his real life was the same gentleman he played on the screen. My four year-old daughter is a great Guy Williams fan.

Great website. I'm a little young to remember watching the original Zorro tv series live, but I did watch the Disney reruns in the early sixties and also was a big fan of Lost in Space. Everything I've read shows Guy Williams to be a wonderful friend, father, husband and actor. Good Job!

Wow, I just came upon your site and all of a sudden I was a 9 year old kid again with my mask, cape and sword. I was one of many who sat in front of the TV singing that theme song for Zorro and leaving Z's all over my house to my Mom's annoyance. But for Holloween, she and my Dad made me a Zorro costume that I kept for years as a memory of a simpler time in my life. Your site brought those memories back. Thanks.

At 55 years old I still can't get enough of Guy Williams as Zorro. I was about six years old when the series first came on TV. I've been awestruck ever since. Mary, your site is always delightful. I have Britt's book and autographed pictures. Come Halloween, I love to dress up as Zorro, however I must admit I look more like Henry Calvin at this point, LOL. Thanks to you and the other fans for keeping the memory of this wonderful man alive.

It is uplifting to go on the internet and be re-united with our old childhood heroes. We loved Zorro and Guy Williams and there were many more men heroes on TV during the 50's. Henry Calvin singing the Zorro theme song is priceless. He wasn't handsome but we loved to hear his beautiful singing voice.

Mary, this is great stuff! My childhood crush on Jolene Brand preceded my later one on Mary Tyler Moore. What a treat to hear Jolene's voice, and Richard Anderson's at the Walk of Fame festivities.

Mary, You did a wonderful job on the colorized photos. Which program did you use? I remember Guy Williams mostly from Walt Disney's "Zorro" and "Lost In Space", which was one of my favorite tv shows as a child. It brings back good memories and now you can get it on DVD. Thanks for the site. You do great work.

In the sixties I grew up with black and white episodes of Zorro; which were late reruns from Disney's 58-59 series. But since 1999 the Belgian television is broadcasting the series now in colour. Zorro is very popular again. The kids in Belgium and Hollland like Zorro as genuine entertainment from a world in which at least one person is altruistic, generous and good. Zorro is someone we would all like to meet, for he is trustworthy and fights injustice. And who does nowadays in a world which bodes suffering and dishonesty from those we have entrusted with the popular and public causes? As most of us have failed ourselves at times, and can do with a bit of genuine generosity in our lives, Zorro is the man we would like to be our next of kin, and nearby. He is the icon of a steward and a brother. This image of charity and justice will be the true legacy and the catholic appeal of Zorro. Generations to come will enjoy this as a call to our better (hidden?) selves.

Thank you Mary for the opportunity to share with other Zorro/Guy Williams afficionados. I was eighteen when I met the "real Zorro", Guy on the screen and I have been influenced by the Z all my life. Even now at age 65, I feel and do things for my community as Zorro would have. "There must always be a Zorro". I am one for my poor neighbors and I take on giants, with gusto. Now that I am a grandmother, I have begun to share the Zorro/Guy Williams episodes with my young ones. What a better way to teach them honor, ethics, honesty, and just plain old decency. My six year old grandson loves dressing up for Halloween as Zorro and giving roses to ladies, fencing with me, and being on the look-out for evil or bad persons, against whom he will defend his family and friends. What a beautiful legacy Guy Williams helped to create. Thank you again for the avenue that allows us to share. My grandson nicknamed me "Nana Zorro" because of what I have shared with him, and for me, it all began with Guy.

Dear Mary, My name is Eduardo from Venezuela. I would like to say that I grew up with Zorro. In those shows, Guy (Don Diego) taught me to grow up with the moral ethics and respect for my neighbor. He taught me to be a better man in any situation. I really give credit to Guy for the man I became.

Hi Mary, My name is Deke Rivers from Australia. I hope you are well. I grew up on Guy and love his acting and presence in all his shows and films. The new Lost in Space film was sorely missing Guy's John Robinson and although William Hurt is a good actor, he was no substitute for Guy, and I believe that's why the movie didn't do very well. They needed Guy or someone just like him as a tribute to him and that was missing. I love him as Zorro and he is still the best as far as I'm concerned. All the best for now Mary.
Regards,

Deke Rivers

Dear Madam, I always thought, silly me, that some actors should never age, or for that matter, die. Guy was one of them. I grew up in San Juan, Argentina, watching Guy take us on a wonderful journey of fantasy and adventure. Your website is a fitting tribute to a great actor. As an Argentinian, I do feel extremely proud that Guy chose our wonderful country as his home. It was with great sadness when I heard about his death. A sad day indeed. Yeah, some people should never die. Gracias for keeping good memories alive.

Tears come to my eyes whenever I remember the man of the mark of the Z. When he was introduced to me at age five by my Grandma, she sat me on her lap to see all of his episodes. I am now 50 and will be 51 on June 19, 2004. We loved Zorro then and we love him still. He was the only one to have the grace of the one and only true Zorro!

Mary, Thank you for a wonderful trip down memory lane. Zorro in all forms has always been my favorite hero, but it is Guy Williams that will always be the ultimate Zorro to me. I am now 50 years old and my mother still tells the story of me at home from school with the mumps at age 5 and quietly covering my entire room with crayon "Z's", at a time when crayon was not washable. I have purchased every video available of the Disney series and will always wish I could have been that masked vigilante with the very cool cloak and sword. Thanks again.

Very nice site. Zorro was my first love. It was aired on a French television channel on Friday evening, in black and white, and the characters spoke French. I must have been seven, didn't understand a word of what they were saying, but I was lost forever. In the late 90's, the Belgian TV began a rerun of the Disney series, coloured version. I was a student at that time, Zorro got me through many tough exams. Since then there are reruns every two years or so, because people always keep watching. It always amazes me how good the series still looks, being shot twenty years or so before I was born! Guy Williams is still my absolute Zorro. At the beginning of the nineties, I was a big fan of the other series, with the characters Victoria and Felipe. I was 13, that was a good excuse to like Philippe more then Bernardo, is it not ? ;) I still like the series, but Disney is still better. Guy is so great in his role. That laugh! Makes you so happy. "Monastario! Why let children do a man's job!" (my masked hero, sometimes I wish he would help me ;) never mind. Anyway, I have warm memories and I still watch it, 20 years later. So, in loving memory of Mr. Williams. He left his Z in my heart.
The best to all of you,

Lieve Pensaert - (Belgian Zorro fan)
